Above All Aviation Pink Paper Plane Guinness Attempt
To celebrate Women of Aviation Worldwide Week, Above All Aviation gathered a group of individuals together to help in the attempt to set a Guinness world record to build the most Pink Paper Planes in multiple venues in a fifteen-minute period from 12:00 to 12:15 pm on March 8, 2016. Being involved in this activity was a perfect fit as a woman-owned flight school with many female student pilots.
Eighteen people, 4 women and 14 men, gathered together at our office at the Santa Barbara Airport to fold pink paper airplanes using the official template. Our timekeeper navigated to www.time.is to determine our precise local time, and once the clock showed 12:00 pm, an air horn was blown to indicate the start time. Each participant began folding as many pink paper planes as they could during the fifteen-minute time frame. Once the clock showed 12:15 pm, the air horn was blown again to indicate the stop time. Any planes that were not finished were not counted, and at the end of the official count, there were 173 total pink paper planes completed.
