Highlights of Women Of Aviation Week 2022

Aviation enthusiasts, associations, and corporations organized 203 local events across the globe to raise awareness and introduce 35,000 women and girls to aviation careers and opportunities as the world celebrated the 12th edition of Women Of Aviation Worldwide Week (March 7-13).

Despite ongoing Covid restrictions in many parts of the world and an emerging military conflict in Ukraine, corporate stakeholders, schools, and communities returned to the joy of hosting in-person events and put together a wide range of aviation discovery opportunities for women and girls. They flew it forward onboard light airplanes, para-gliders, and balloons where Covid restrictions permitted it.

Small or large, in-person or virtual, each #WOAW22 event had for the goal to familiarize women and girls with aviation careers and opportunities and give them a chance to connect with local aviation professionals and enthusiasts.

“The world of flight always fascinated me but I did not know that it was something I could actually do until today,” said Pilar Dias.
